I have a 2014 Explorer on order (well I think so anyway). So far it is fairly typical Spanish timing, wait, wait and wait...
But at least they have passes US EPA and hopefully the importer will get span order in soon and then wait for them to get here.

I'll report on th bike when I get it. Sounds like some good updates for this year.

I've owned 5 OSSAs before
1970 175 Stiletto (used, early 70's)
1974 Phantom (new)
1976 1/2 GPII. PHanton (new)

1976 MAR (basket, sold still needing work)
1970 Pioneer (bought really rough, did a full rebuild and sold to Australia)

Now the 2014 Explorer (well, after I actually get it!)

Man, this bike is great! I do a 53 mile mountain trail ride last weekend, the bike worked fantastic!

There are loads of I really neat features and the build quality is excellent. There are a few thing I don't like.
He rear brake pedal is junk. Too far forward and the top doesn't fold. I don't know why they don't just use the trials one. I have once on order. Whne hauling it over a log on a steep side hill trail, the pedal jammed into the log and broke the spacer. I welded it back up (had to make a special tool to hold the nut to remove it) but I don't know why they made something different.

I raised the bars 2" for trail riding, still a bit low for me, but seems to be a good compromise.
I've been using a left hand rear brake, so getting used to the foot brake took a bit. But it has much better feel than my KTM 300. I had to get used to using a clutch also (KTM has a Rekluse ) but it works great. Light with a decently wide engagement range.

I don't like how the rear brake mount/spacer is. You need to remove the caliper to remove the brake. Maybe no big deal in the shop, but if ever a puncture on the trail it would be a pain.
It has tubes front and rear- Pirelli tyres, i like the Michelin better, but these are DOT so I can plate it easily.

I got the trials rear brake pedal from Lewisport - it works perfectly!
I hit a big stump and completely folded the peg, but no issue with the new pedal- the old one would have bee a pretzel.
 Super fun on tight Singletrack- even better when the trail gets nasty or no trail at all. I've been hitting the low fuel lamp around 40-50 miles, depending on the trail. All pretty slow stuff.

I'm running 100:1 Motorex full synth and almost no smoke and certainly no spooge. Plug seems to get dirty sort of quickly, I think a bit hotter one would be better.

Changing the trans oil means loosening the clutch cover a little to get all the oil out. No big deal, but it won't get it all out otherwise. The sight window doesn't seem too accurate either- I just measure when draining to make sure I get it all and refill (450cc for the 2014).

Gearbox has loosened up nicely, smoother going into 6th now. But of course with the heavy flywheel etc it is a rather deliberate shifter - not fast one. That's ok, acceleration isn't like my 300, but it is deceptively quick. It doesn't seem like you are going quickly, but I'm right behind the faster enduro bikes.

Hey thanks for the info Mark.  With the gearbox loosening up, has it been easier to get into neutral?
